Recently, I made an appointment during a short block of free time between my busy appointments. I visited the Eternal Clinic, to have my facial skin analyzed and treated using the HydraFacial treatment machine. I was one of only a few men in the clinic at this time, but I think more men will take advantage of this step forward in skin care.
The skin analysis told aestheticians what problems my skin had, giving me a personalized assessment of my skin condition. With this information, my aesthetician determined what the best treatment plan would be for me.
The aesthetician recommended a HydraFacial, based on years of sun damage to my skin. In addition, my busy lifestyle does not always allow me the time I should devote to ensuring that my skin remains hydrated and healthy.
What Is a HydraFacial Treatment?
HydraFacial treatments, I discovered, are efficient, fast treatments. Mine only took 30 minutes to complete. I didn’t have to miss any of my scheduled meetings, since there is no downtime following the procedure.
The Steps of the HydraFacial Treatment
The first step in the HydraFacial treatment is cleansing and toning of the skin.
Cleansing is a vital way to maintain healthy skin, my aesthetician explained to me. The HydraFacial cleansing removed impurities and excess oil from my skin, and improved its health.
Toning is a good follow-up to cleansing, and the treatment removed any debris or oil left behind during my cleansing. It felt quite soothing and it nourished my skin
Next, my skin was analyzed, to determine which steps would benefit me the most. Everyone’s skin is different, and this step was essential, to make sure my skin got what it needed most.
The HydraFacial exfoliation is much less invasive than conventional microdermabrasion. The abrasive edges of the tip were gentler to my skin, yet they still cleaned deeply, to ensure that all dirt and debris were removed from my skin.
I had no idea how beneficial steam could be for facial skin health. The moisture from the steam softened the surface layer of my skin, where dead skin cells were found. Steam is helpful in breaking free any bacteria, dirt or dead skin cells.
The HydraFacial extraction utilizes a vortex extraction device, instead of having a technician perform manual extractions. The nozzle vacuumed my skin and extracted dirt and bacteria without pain or discomfort.
This step again involved the use of the HydraFacial machine itself. It cleaned my skin of all impurities, to prepare it for the antioxidants and moisturizers, which would be applied later.
7)Mask and Massage
A facial mask was used to clear my skin and refine my pores. It increased hydration levels by penetrating deeply, as it was massaged into my face. A facial mask is also helpful for fine lines, which are a problem for me, since I am outside too much without access to products that offer proper sun protection.
After the in-depth treatment by the HydraFacial machine and aesthetic technician, my skin was cleansed and toned again. This rehydrated my skin, and it allowed me to see the results as they were completed.
9) Hydra Facial serums
The HydraFacial vortex-fusion tool was used next, to apply serum into my facial skin. It infused a collagen and antioxidant rich serum directly into the skin, which promoted hydration and elasticity.
For hydration, the vortex-fusion tool infused my skin with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, to protect and nourish my skin.
11) Protection (SPF)
Sun protection was provided as the last step of my HydraFacial treatment. This allowed me to head back out into the heat and on to my next business appointment without having to apply an SPF product myself. I was well pleased with the results, and the way my skin looked and felt after the treatment.
